The concept behind speed dating is to meet as many people as possible as quickly as possible—and 99% of them you’ll never see again. Actually, that’s not too far off from the statistic that 80% of donors never make a second gift.  So what can you do to develop a successful donor relations program, what works and what doesn’t, and how can you improve your retention rate?  Learn how to form a lasting relationship with your donors.

Leadership Annual Giving 
Hosted by Texas Tech University 

Texas Tech University is in its first year of launching a Leadership Annual Giving program to contribute to a donor centric, sustained philanthropy initiative. We hope you will join in hearing how its Annual Giving team has incorporated an innovative ‘Meaningful Contact Donor Cycle’ that mixes strategies from both Annual Giving and Major Gift work. Texas Tech’s ‘Meaningful Contact Cycle’ implements a quick and repeatable communication strategy while also providing training for Junior. Development Officers to grow into Major Gift Officers. The Texas Tech Annual Giving Team will also share other strategies that create donor engagement opportunities that include stewardship efforts, pledge renewals, and how to engage recurring donor.

Crowdfunding is a great tool to increase new donor acquisition, as well as help engage students and faculty in philanthropy. Whether you're just starting out or trying to improve your existing crowdfunding program, join us as we discuss and share best practices, lessons learned, and look at examples of successful projects from different institutions.  This will be an interactive discussion where participants bring ideas to share.
