Morgantown Insights

Welcome to Morgantown, home of the Mountaineers since 1867 when the state of West Virginia first opened the doors of its flagship, land-grant institution.

Morgantown and West Virginia University have experienced a tremendous amount of growth over the past 150 years as the University has grown to over 30,000 students while Monongalia County, in which Morgantown resides, now has over 100,000 people who call it home. This population growth has been fueled by the countless job opportunities that exist within the healthcare industry, generic pharmaceutical industry and the University system. Morgantown is home to both WVU Hospitals, which was recently recognized as the state's largest private employer, and Mon General Hospital. Mylan Pharmaceuticals, the world's largest generic pharmaceutical company, is also based in Morgantown. These employers, along with the University, have helped fuel the growth of Morgantown.

Morgantown has a countless number of things to do, but the following list will surely help you hone in on what most appeals to you - http://www.tourmorgantown.com/102-things-to-do-in-greater-morgantown/
